## What counts {#counts}

A number is billed while its connection state is `connected` (see [Numbers](https://docs.whabuzz.com/guides/numbers.md#connection-state)). Numbers that are `pending` or `disconnected` are not billed. Billing is per tenant.

## What you pay Meta {#meta}

WhatsApp's own charges (conversation or message rates, depending on Meta's current model) are billed by Meta to your Meta account. WhaBuzz neither marks them up nor sees them on an invoice. See [`message.status`](https://docs.whabuzz.com/events/message-status.md) events for the pricing Meta reports per message.

## Trial and invoices {#trial}

New accounts start with a trial and a grace period before suspension for non-payment. Invoices, the payment mandate and payments are managed with [`/v1/billing`](https://docs.whabuzz.com/api/billing.md). The commercial page is at [whabuzz.com/pricing](https://whabuzz.com/pricing). Until billing is switched on, every `/v1/billing` route answers `503 billing_disabled`.
